After pushing back on “Pride Night" at the baseball stadium, several Giants players are catching heat for their silent protest that pointed to the original rainbow in the Book of Genesis.

During the San Francisco Giants-Chicago Cubs game on Friday, Giants starting pitcher Landen Roupp took the mound during “Pride Night” wearing his Giants cap with the homosexual-themed rainbow logo. He had also written something else, too. He wrote “Genesis 9:12-16” beside the logo, a reference to God giving the rainbow in response to the great flood of Noah's time.

And Roupp wasn’t alone. Three other pitchers from the Giants bullpen also wrote a Bible verse from Genesis on their caps. A fourth Giants pitcher went hatless rather than wear the cap with the logo, Fox News reported.

Rather than remain neutral about the Bible verses, a spokesman for Major League Baseball said the league has “warned the players about future violations” because writing on the cap violates MLB rules.

Critics are accusing Major League Baseball of bowing to pressure to punish the Giants players, however, since other players have written other messages on their caps without punishment.

The bullying punishment is not entirely surprising. Not only did the players protest “Pride Night” last week, they did so in San Francisco. That city is commonly referred to as a “Gay Mecca” for its large population of homosexuals who live there and take pride in San Francisco’s history of homosexual activism.

During the “Pride Night” at Oracle Park, the sinful celebration included same-sex couples renewing their wedding vows with a drag queen officiating. An LGBT-affirming church choir sang the national anthem.

The fact the Giants players protested in that “Gay Mecca” might explain a ranting news story published at Outsports, the homosexual-themed sports website. The article accuses Roupp and the other players of “attacking” San Francisco’s homosexual community and “weaponizing” the Bible verse from Genesis.

The article concludes by stating the city’s homosexual community has endured decades of tragedies, such as the AIDS epidemic and suicides, only for three Giants players “full of hate” to display the Genesis Bible verse during “Pride Night.”

Asked about the Bible verse by unhappy sports reporters, Roupp told the news media after the game his intention was to point people to “God’s covenant” and to His promise.

The rainbow is a biblical symbol, the pitcher pointed out, and his intention was not to be hateful.

“It's something that I believe in, and I stand firm in that,” Roupp shared. “Thankfully, we live in a country where we get to believe what we want."
