New documentary corrects liberal news narrative of October 7

As the world continues to reflect on the devastating events of October 7, new documentary projects are capturing both the trauma of that day and the broader resurgence of global antisemitism.

For Jewish people, October 7 is a day that they will never forget as demonic terrorists attacked them in a massacre described as the worst slaughter of Jews since the Holocaust. Meanwhile, liberal news media paints Israel as the antagonist that day and villainize their efforts to combat Hamas.

NewsBusters reported how 1,200 individuals were killed by Hamas that day and how the Islamic terrorists committed multiple war crimes and crimes against humanity, such as hostage-taking, killing those in custody, sexual violence and mutilating bodies among others.

In the same story, NewsBusters called out MSNBC, CNN, CBS and other liberal news and media outlets that went on to defend Hamas and went out of their way to avoid painting them as terrorists.

Levi Hazen, executive director of Life in Messiah, has produced an investigative documentary film called “Shadows of October: Israel Under Siege.” The documentary was made “to combat the false narratives and lies that are circulating regarding October 7 and the aftermath.”

Hazen spoke with John Riley, host of American Family Radio (AFR)’s “Middle East Report.” He said on the morning of October 7, 2023, people in the U.S. woke up to reports of an attack on Israel.

“That's nothing new. Israel's used to experiencing terrorist attacks and missiles and so forth,” Hazen states. “This attack was different. Hamas terrorists, who are very open about their desire to eradicate not just Israelis, but Jewish people around the globe, broke through Israel's borders and slaughtered innocent civilians across multiple communities.”

According to Hazen, they didn't go after soldiers, but rather, they went after women, husbands, and children.

“We woke up to these absolutely horrific reports of what had been done to the Jewish people. It was absolutely shocking because of the horrific nature of it. Hamas had body cams so that they filmed the whole thing. You could hear how joyous they were as they murdered and pillaged their victims,” Hazen says.

What happened after October 7, he said, revealed something about the rest of the world.

“I think what we know now is that antisemitism never went away after World War II. The whole time here, it's been simmering beneath the surface, waiting for an opportunity to rear its ugly head,” Hazen states.

“Shadows of October: Israel Under Siege” is streaming on all major streaming platforms.
