When the DuPont all-trimester abortion clinic leased property and announced plans to open shop in Beverly Hills, California, Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust joined with Tasha Baker, founder of StopDuPontClinic.org, to campaign against it.
Survivors spokesman Tim Clement tells AFN their motto was, "Something wicked this way comes" and, "You don't want Beverly Hills to become Beverly Kills."
Their campaign started with informational pickets at the building.
"We talked to the people. We put up victim imagery signs," the details. "We also went around giving information to the neighborhood, knocking on doors."
The team made speeches before the city council, and Clement also met with the mayor. Soon after, the deputy city manager emailed the pro-lifers.
"Per our conversation yesterday morning, this email is to confirm that the attorney for the landlord at 8920 Wilshire Blvd has notified the city that DuPont Clinic will no longer be taking occupancy and that the lease has been rescinded," Clement reads from the email.
He hopes this outcome will motivate people throughout the country to organize, be persistent, and keep abortuaries out of their own cities and towns.
As for DuPont, Survivors recognizes the likelihood that the business will capitalize on Proposition 1 lifting all statutory limits on abortion in California and set its sights elsewhere in the state. The youth-based pro-life activist organization, however, plans to keep it from opening anywhere.
