Ninety-five percent of the votes are in with the Florida panhandle, in the Central time zone, coming in late and going overwhelmingly for Moody.
Moody is the state’s former attorney general.
Her opponent, Democrat state representative Angie Nixon was not the first choice for Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer or other party leadership, Fox News reported.
Moody was initially appointed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to fill the remainder of Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s term, which ends in 2029.
Moody will now serve her own full six-year term.
