Five things to watch for in the messiness of Election Day

Five things to watch for in the messiness of Election Day

A former Justice Department attorney guarantees that there are five messy things that are certain to happen on this Election Day.

J. Christian Adams is a member of the United States Commission on Civil Rights and president of the Public Interest Legal Foundation.

In an article published on PJ Media he lists, "Five Things That WILL Happen on Election Day."

They include:

1. Running out of paper ballots.

2. Records showing a would-be voter has already voted.

3. Machines Flip Votes.

4. Election Night Winners Become Day After Losers.

5. Long Lines Somewhere.

"These five things happen every election. If they help one party or another, it's hard to know. It depends on where you have long lines. It depends on where you have ballots running out,” Adams told AFN.

Keep an eye on big cities, but the party feeling pain there may surprise you.

“So, in my experience, sometimes ballots run out in the inner cities. So that would not help Democrats if it happened again that way,” he said.

The reality is national elections have hiccups.

“It's a mixed bag. This is random, uncoordinated stuff. It's not part of a plot or effort to rig the election. That's the point of my article. This garbage happens all the time, so get used to it,” Adams said.

Not all states will know winners tonight. The candidate leading when you go to bed, may not be the candidate ahead when you wake up.

“People go to bed and they think they know one, and then the next day it's changed. They don't understand how it happens. And it happens because these states have moved to mail ballots, and they're not counting the mail ballots until the polls close. Some states like Florida, they don't accept ballots late, for starters, and they start the counting. So, we get results in Florida on election night. We won't have results in California, probably, on election night."
