Deace: Needless war with Iran may drag down GOP in November

Deace: Needless war with Iran may drag down GOP in November

Republicans who celebrated Donald Trump’s historic White House victory in 2024 are now limping into the November midterms with the prospect of losing control of Congress, most polling indicates.

A Democrat-controlled Congress is a greater reality than Iran ever attacking the U.S. with a nuke, Deace said.

Now, with Democrats poised to take at least the House or Senate, they will move forward with impeaching President Trump and create gridlock on Capitol Hill through the 2028 elections.

“As much as I am confident that every time an Iranian Revolutionary Guard dies, an angel gets his wings, everybody within the sound of my voice is way more threatened by what the Democrats will do right there down the street from you than what is happening over there with Iran,” he said.

Trump 'obliterated' nuclear facilities

Long before President Trump was warning about a nuclear-capable Iran, he was bragging the U.S. military "completely and totally obliterated" Iran's nuclear program.

Trump did so after Operation Midnight Hammer, in June 2025, hit underground nuclear facilities with bunker-buster bombs dropped by B-2 stealth bombers.

An official press release from the White House stated the world is "far safer far safer after President Donald J. Trump’s highly successful, decisive precision strikes against the Iranian regime’s key nuclear facilities."

The headline of the press release is, "Iran's Nuclear Facilities Have Been Obliterated - and Suggestions Otherwise are Fake News."

Then, eight months later, the Pentagon launched "Operation Epic Fury" with Israel's military in late February.

That military operation swiftly took out Iran's ayatollah in the first hours, as well as key military and political leaders, and it hit Iran with night attacks for 26 days straight without a pause in combat operations.

Much like his bragging about Midnight Hammer, President Trump repeatedly bragged Iran's military had been decimated and its leaders were "begging" for a peace treaty.

Now, seven months later, the Iranian regime somehow remains in control of what is left after Epic Fury.

A quick war in Iran didn’t materialize like the Trump administration expected, Deace said. Now the U.S. must bring Iran to heel or risk losing the respect of U.S. enemies.

“They thought the regime was teetering, and they were going to get a regime change on the cheap," Deace observed.

Now the U.S. president and his administration are "cornered," Deace said, because to leave Iran's regime in place now makes the U.S. look weak to Russia and to China.

Americans hurting over higher prices

It’s a difficult spot for the administration, but it’s the reality. Even Trump’s most loyal states are feeling fatigue, Deace said.

And it’s the battle Republicans are fighting as the try to retain control of Congress.

In a previous story on the midterms, AFN reported gas prices nationwide have jumped $1.30 a gallon from over a year ago.

A pound of ground beef, a staple in many grocery budgets, has jumped $1.38 a pound since Trump took office in January 2025. It is now nearing $7 a pound nationwide.

“Here in the Midwest," Deace advised, "the tariffs are being returned, reciprocated. Your exports are getting tariffed back by countries angry at our tariffs"

Deace, Steve (Blaze TV) Deace

Deace said many voters stayed loyal to President Trump over tariffs, because they believe he's fighting for their values, but they also remember "America First" meant no more stupid foreign wars.

"And then he starts one,” Deace said.
