The nation's highest court will hear arguments in Little v. Hecox and West Virginia vs. BPJ in March. The cases seek to ban men from competing in women's sports, and 130 congressional Democrats have signed on to a friend of the court brief opposing the ban.
"This is sick," Franklin Graham recently responded on social media. "If it turns your stomach, beware."
"It seems that most Democrats in Washington are buying into these lies," the post continued. "With many, it's not about what is right or wrong, it's about power—and they will sell their souls for power."
Dr. Richard Land of Southern Evangelical Seminary says in situations like this, Graham takes after his mother.
"Ruth Graham ... talked like she thought it," he relays. "Billy was always more diplomatic, and Franklin is his mother's son. He just tells it like he sees it [and] lets the chips fall where they may."
But when it comes to sharing the gospel, Land says Franklin is like his father.
"One of the things I love about the Grahams … they always present the gospel," the professor notes. "The Bible tells us that every Christian has at least one spiritual gift to contribute to the Church and to the kingdom. Whatever it is, we have an obligation to allow the Holy Spirit to develop that gift within us."
He says Franklin seems to have inherited Billy's gift of evangelism and Ruth's gift of exhortation.
"Men in women's sports and restrooms is perverted," Graham added in his Facebook post. "Pray that God will guide the hearts of the Supreme Court justices to do the right thing as they deliberate this issue in just a couple of weeks."
