Tar Heel says 'foolish' elections have fortified 'socialist enclaves'

A Christian apologist in North Carolina says he's saddened by the way his state is trending, but he's not really surprised by it.

Following more than 250 arrests by Customs and Border Protection agents in North Carolina's largest city and areas around the state capital of Raleigh, federal officials have confirmed "Operation Charlotte's Web" has officially concluded after less than a week.

Homeland Security leaders have said they brought the large operation to The Tar Heel State because of sanctuary policies that limit cooperation between local authorities and immigration agents.

Dr. Alex McFarland, who lived in Charlotte for five years, says the operation began last weekend and was met by unruly mobs that continually harassed the agents while they did their job.

"I'm saddened by the trend that North Carolina is taking," he tells AFN. "Charlotte is a big city. There're so many colleges. Of course, in the state capital, in Raleigh, you've got NC State, Chapel Hill, and Duke right there together. All of these schools are so leftist, so liberal."

McFarland says the state "foolishly" elects officials who are clearly on the side of illegal aliens and will "bend over backwards to promote lawlessness."

Democratic Governor Josh Stein, for example, says deporting illegals is based on racism and that law enforcement "stokes fear." He does, however, support deporting violent or "serious criminals," regardless of their immigration status.

"Raleigh has a Democrat mayor (Janet Cowell). Charlotte has a Democrat mayor (Vi Lyles)," McFarland notes. "They're just socialist enclaves. They really are."

The feds will now turn their attention to operation "Swamp Sweep" in New Orleans, the next phase of President Donald Trump's efforts to deport the millions of illegals that former President Joe Biden allowed into the country over his four years in the White House.
