Crank adjusting to Trump Speed – Democrats are too

Former talk show host Jeff Crank, a frequent interviewee for American Family News, has been sworn in as a member of Congress serving the Colorado Springs area.

Now-Congressman Jeff Crank says he feels like he's stepped into a buzzsaw, given the pace President Donald Trump is setting his first month in office. He sees this as a special time.

“Obviously, it would be exciting to be elected to Congress anytime. But to be elected in 2024, I mean, it's just historic. “

The Springs, as locals call his hometown, is home to five military bases – the Army's Fort Carson, Peterson Air Force Base, Schriever Space Force Base, Cheyene Mountain – the NORAD hideaway buried inside a literal mountain – and the Air Force Academy. Crank says that pretty much made his committee assignments automatic.

“So, I'm on the House Armed Services Committee and the Natural Resources Committees. Colorado Springs has five military installations in it, and so that was critical that I got appointed to that committee,” he said.

Crank says his head is spinning with the pace of Washington in Trump's Second term, but he says Democrats have it worse, thought they’re adjusting to the pace.

“I think it really caught Democrats by surprise for the first three weeks. I think they're actually stunned with the speed at which President Trump is moving, and it was very difficult for them to even react to it. And you could kind of see that. Now they've got their sea legs about them.”
