Israeli author slams terrorist-defending Democratic Party

The Democratic Party should file for bankruptcy, says author-journalist Joel Rosenberg, not because it lacks billionaire backers but because of policies driving it toward a more serious kind of bankruptcy.

“What we’re watching is moral bankruptcy across the board inside the Democratic Party,” Rosenberg said on American Family Radio Wednesday.

Actions from U.S. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee in the election just weeks away, don’t match their comments and statements on the nation of Israel in its continuing war against Iran-backed militant groups Hamas and Hezbollah, Rosenberg told show host Jenna Ellis.

And it’s not just modern-day Democrats.

Leon Panetta served under Bill Clinton and later became head of the CIA and defense secretary under Barak Obama. He told CBS News this week that Israel’s attack on Hezbollah militants at all levels through the use of pagers and hand-held radios amounts to “a form of terrorism.”

Media reports indicate a death toll of almost 30 people but injuries to thousands more in the attack.

“The ability to be able to place an explosive in technology, that is very prevalent these days, and turn it into a war of terror. This is something new,” Panetta told CBS.

“This has gone right into the supply chain. When you have terror going into the supply chain, it makes people ask the question, ‘What the hell is next?’ This is a tactic that has repercussions, and we really don’t know what those repercussions are going to be,” he continued.

When a U.S. official for decades turns the tables like that, it shows that terrorism has become accepted in the party, Rosenberg said.

“For Leon Panetta to accuse Israel of terrorism by having this ingenious strategy...it's moral bankruptcy," he argued. "I mean, it shows how much key Democrats have decided that Israel is the problem, that killing terrorists is not the objective anymore.”

And it is also a biblical “mistake,” Rosenberg adds.

Many do not approach life with a biblical worldview. Many who do take seriously God’s promise to Abraham in Genesis 12.

“I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse …”

“I'm worried that the Biden and Harris are setting America on a direction in which God would lift his favor off of our country,” Rosenberg warned.

Some senators share the concern

Some Christians on Capitol Hill are equally concerned.

Republican Sens. Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz and Tim Scott met with a group from the National Religious Broadcasters this week.

Scott was blunt in his assessment of the Biden-Harris administration’s treatment of Israel, its supposed ally.

“I believe God has shined His face upon this nation because we have stood shoulder to shoulder and back-to-back with Israel," Scott said. "And as bad as we think it is in America, I think we should be very careful – very careful – how we treat His chosen people.”

“We do not want to see the favor of God to leave our nation, but I fear it will if we abandon or turn our back on Israel,” Scott told Rosenberg in a related story for AllIsraelNews.com.

Scott then added, “But I believe this administration is failing to stand faithfully with Israel.”

Rosenberg shares Sen. Scott’s concern.

“I worry that God may be getting close to being done with the United States. We're not there yet, but this is very, very dangerous when you take all of our other national mistakes and sins and you add increasing abandonment of Israel to it,” he said.

Many Israelis tire of the constant calls for a ceasefire that they hear from U.S. leaders.

“The Biden-Harris administration says they're pro-Israel but keeps stalling the resupply of weapons and missile interceptors to Israel. How is that really being pro-Israel? They keep pressuring Israel to not escalate. Israel is not escalating. Israel is responding to almost 10,000 missiles that have been fired at Israel by Hezbollah in Lebanon.

“We are responding. We're not escalating,” said Rosenberg, who has dual U.S.-Israeli citizenship.

The U.S. also benefits from the Israeli response. Hezbollah leaders Fuad Shukr and Ibrahim Aqeel had both been sought by the U.S. for their roles in the 1983 Marine barracks bombing in Beirut that killed 241 Americans. The U.S. had placed multi-million-dollar bounties on each.

“Biden and Harris are not celebrating our ally. They're not arming our ally. They're not defending our ally. They're not encouraging our ally, Rosenberg alleged.

Instead, the Biden-Harris administration is constantly pressuring Israel to "stand down" when it is at war with its enemies.

“They have been very clear, they don't want Prime Minister Netanyahu to remain Prime Minister, they want him to step out. Even though he's the democratically elected prime minister of the state of Israel,” Rosenberg said.

The world watches how U.S. treats Israel

The rest of the world sees this response. Other nations may oppose Israel but what they see in this relationship is the U.S. commitment – or lack thereof – to a supposed ally.

“When you mistreat Israel, the Taiwanese are watching, the South Koreans are watching, the Japanese are watching when it comes to the China threat or to the North Korean threat. Obviously, Ukraine is watching. All of Europe is watching.

“The entire world is watching that Biden and Harris don't know how to stand with an ally that's under missile attack from seven different directions,” Rosenberg said.
