Fox News reported this week the FBI plans to interview the six Democrat lawmakers who filmed the controversial one-minute video telling the military to defy “illegal orders” from President Trump.
The six lawmakers, nicknamed the “Seditious Six” by critics, are now claiming to be political targets of the Trump administration even they fired the first political shot at President Trump.
“The President directing the FBI to target us is exactly why we made this video in the first place,” Sen. Elissa Slotkin stated in a X post published Tuesday.
Washington Times columnist Robert Knight tells AFN the six lawmakers showed a “stunning display of belligerence” toward President Trump, who is commander in chief of the armed forces.
“They didn't list any illegal orders,” Knight points out, “and to this day, they can't come up with any.”
The sudden concern for service members and unlawful orders reminded Knight of President Biden and the Pentagon's mandate that forced service members to roll up a sleeve - or face severe consequences - during the Covid pandemic.
“When 8,000 service members were thrown out of the military because they wouldn't take the COVID-19 experimental shots, the Democrats didn't have their back,” Knight pointed out.
Not only did religious exemption requests get denied by the military branches, an inspector general review in 2022 showed military officers were ordered to issue a blanket denial of thousands of requests.
J.M. Phelps, a freelance journalist who covers military news, told AFN he is grateful Knight and others haven’t forgotten about the Covid shot mandate. That’s because Phelps has interviewed hundreds of service members affected by the Covid-19 mandate who considered it an unlawful order.
“As a result of being coerced and threatened, tens of thousands left the military of their own accord,” he said. “In my opinion, it can be argued they were forced to leave.”
Asked to estimate the number of service members affected, Phelps said some estimate 90,000 troops were affected but the actual figure is uncertain.
Considering the six Democrats have now made unlawful orders a topic, Phelps pointed out the Trump administration reversed those harsh punishments and recognized them as unlawful orders from President Biden.
