‘About time’ a governor steps up to take on Islamist organizations, Gabriel says

A terrorism expert who grew up in war-torn Lebanon is praising the governor of Texas for taking a strong stance against Islamic supremacy organizations.

Gov. Greg Abbott has declared that the Council on American Islamic Relations is a "foreign terrorist organization" and says that it would not be allowed to buy land in the state.

The proclamation also included the Muslim Brotherhood. Neither CAIR nor the Muslim Brotherhood are designated as foreign terrorist organizations by the U.S. government.

“CAIR is an Islamist organization that, according to the FBI, was founded as a ‘front group’ for Hamas and its support network in the United States,” wrote Abbott in his proclamation.

Regarding the Muslim Brotherhood …

“Hassan al-Banna, who founded the Muslim Brotherhood almost 100 years ago, professed that ‘Jihad is an obligation from Allah on every Muslim and cannot be ignored nor evaded,” Abbott notes.

“Jihad is defined as the fighting of the unbelievers and involves all possible efforts that are necessary to dismantle the power of the enemies of Islam including beating them, plundering their wealth, destroying their places of worship and smashing their idols,” the proclamation continues.

"I think it's a great step in the right direction, and I hope that other states will follow as well. It's about time that elected officials, especially those in the highest position as governors in different states, start pointing the finger at CAIR and start putting CAIR under the microscope."

Gabriel says for a long time even Republicans were treating CAIR with kid gloves.

"Basically, they were cozying up to CAIR or giving them letters of recommendation, bragging about them, what a great organization they were. So, for years, CAIR got away in Texas with things that they should not have gotten away with. And I'm glad finally, finally, Abbott is designating them as a terrorist organization."
