Rosenberg: Biden kowtowing to 'lunatics' in setting his Israel policies

Author, journalist and regional analyst Joel Rosenberg says Israel is making great gains in its war against Hamas in spite of waning support from the United States – which he claims is being influenced by a contingent of anti-Semites in the Democratic Party.

Most Israelis welcomed the support of President Joe Biden in the days after the Oct. 7 Hamas terrorist attacks on fellow-civilians in their country. But that feeling has become more of "what have you done for me lately?" Rosenberg said on American Family Radio Tuesday.

The current visit by Secretary of State Antony Blinken isn't helping matters, Rosenberg told show host Jenna Ellis.

Blinken and his delegation are hoping to influence Israel's next phase of the war. Israel Defense Minister Yoav Gallant last week presented a proposal that states Palestinians should not be allowed to return to their homes in northern Gaza until the hostages Hamas still holds from Oct. 7 – believed to be more than 100 now – are set free. Blinken is pushing for exactly the opposite.

Support from Biden administration waning

Rosenberg praised House Speaker Mike Johnson for pushing through an aid bill, but since then help from the U.S. has been one big roadblock.

"Biden did a good job early on supporting Israel, standing with Israel, even coming to Israel to his credit, but what has happened since?" Rosenberg asked. "What has happened since is the evangelical, wonderful Republican Speaker of the House – I know we don't agree on everything, including the most recent spending bill – … passed a $14.5 billion emergency military aid package for Israel in October.

"[But] it's been three months. Biden has done nothing. The Senate has done nothing," Rosenberg said.

Johnson "believes that the United States should be doing more to help its ally under fire from every direction," Rosenberg said. Now Blinken and the U.S. are pushing Israel to limit military actions.

"Blinken is here [in Israel] to pressure Israel to do what? To – quote – 'not expand the war in Lebanon' – unquote. Well, who's expanding the war? It's the Iranian terror proxy Hezbollah who's attacking us more and more every single day. We're defending ourselves.  It is not helpful for Israel's number-one ally to send the Secretary of State over here to criticize us like we're children, like we're getting to be a bigger problem. We're not," Rosenberg argued.

According to The New York Times, Blinken told reporters on Monday that an end to war in Gaza could lead to diplomatic ties with Saudia Arabia. Such a relationship could lead to a U.S.-Saudi mutual defense treaty similar to U.S. agreements with Japan and South Korea.

Blinken said he was told by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman that the Saudis would be willing to assist "to help Gaza stabilize and recover, to chart a political path forward for the Palestinians and to work toward long-term peace, security and stability in the region as a whole," The Times reported.

Rosenberg says Joe Biden is listening to the wrong people to help guide his Israel policies.

"He's kowtowing to the AOC, Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar freakish, antisemitic wing of the Democratic Party. Most Democrats, I disagree with them on almost every other issue, but on Israel, generally, if there's a vote, most Democrats vote correctly. Biden is not listening to the majority within his own caucus. He's listening to the lunatics – and it shows," Rosenberg said.

Israel's good news goes lightly reported

In spite of the pressure from the U.S., the war is going well for Israel, Rosenberg shared. "You're probably not getting that from any coverage of almost any mainstream media in the United States, but Israel is winning," he told American Family Radio.

According to Rosenberg, Israel is "capturing Hamas terrorists by the thousands." And for the second time in two days, a Hezbollah senior commander has been killed. Rosenberg's AllIsrael.com reported that a Tuesday evening (local time) airstrike took out Ali Hussein Barji while he was driving a car just before the funeral of Hezbollah commander Wissam al-Tawil, who was killed on Monday, was scheduled to begin.

"We have killed many thousands, actually we're up to more than 9,000 Hamas terrorists that we know of, and have been absolutely dismantling their terror infrastructure in the Gaza Strip. You're probably not hearing that," the respected journalist stated.

According to Rosenberg, Israel on Monday "uncovered, captured and blew up the largest missile production factory in the Gaza Strip that we know of. It was underground, hidden, and it's been the source of many of the more than 13,000 attacks we've had. This is tremendous progress."

Yet tremendous suffering remains.

"Has it been painful? Yes. Is it messy? Yes. We still have more than 100 Israeli hostages held in those asphyxiating tunnels underneath Gaza. This is not over," Rosenberg lamented.
