Biden's CBP is out of bounds

An immigration enforcement organization says the Biden administration is increasing the use of a phone app to hide the illegal alien crisis.

The Department of Homeland Security will now divert more people from crossing between ports of entry by offering 1,450 appointments a day to migrants who use the Customs and Border Protection's phone application, CBP One™.

Ira Mehlman, media director for the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), says the app was created in the fall of 2020 to facilitate would-be migrants wanting to enter the U.S.

"The administration doesn't want to stop illegal immigration; they just want to make it less visible to the American public," he asserts. "It doesn't look good when you have people coming across the Rio Grande or sneaking across the border in large numbers, and what they are doing is finding or inventing ways to allow people who have no legal right to be coming into the United States to come in anyway."

The administration, he says, is constantly boasting about creating new legal pathways for people to come into the United States, when "they don't have any constitutional authority" to do that.

"The Constitution explicitly vests the legislative branch with the power to set immigration laws and regulate immigration," the FAIR spokesman cites. "The executive branch's role is to carry out the laws passed by Congress, and yet they are just blatantly ignoring the constitutional authority of Congress to set immigration policy."

The phone app, he says, seems to be one of the preferred ways of doing this.

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, CBP One™ provides "increased accessibility and transparency to some of CBP's most utilized services" as part of the agency's "comprehensive effort to improve the security of our nation's borders while enhancing legitimate travel and trade."
