The Daily Caller recently reported that Secretary of Defense commissioned the RAND Corporation to conduct a study "through a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) lens" that aimed to find examples of alleged "hate speech"on social media by members of the Air Force.
However, after searching multiple platforms, very few instances of offensive speech were detected. In fact, Air Force members, dependents, and veterans were found to avoid speech considered "hateful" and communicated in a respectful manner over the entire duration of the study.
Out of the 53.9 million tweets included in the survey, only 2,371, or 0.0031%, contained a certain racial slur.
"We were able to find evidence that, at least in public, airmen only rarely use slurs or other distinct hate speech terms," the researchers wrote.
Elaine Donnelly, president of the Center for Military Readiness (CMR), says the study was "a waste of taxpayers' money."
"This study with the cooperation of RAND is really quite amazing," she submits. "They even checked the tweets and communications of Air Force family members. They're trying to throw that net very wide in order to find what they were looking for, and they still did not find a pattern of hateful speech."
The Daily Caller explains that RAND had hoped to use the results for a before-and-after study of the effects of DEI policies on discourse, but researchers admit they were "unable to find any individual DEI policy changes since 2016 or 2018 … that had a clear and major impact on USAF online community discourse."
Donnelly says the researchers uncovered the truth.
"The Pentagon is working very hard on a problem that apparently does not exist -- or exists in such a tiny ratio to the majority of people in the military [that] it really is a colossal waste of time," she tells AFN.
The CMR president concludes that Congress must step up and use its power to put Biden's woke agenda in check.
