On Thursday, President Joe Biden broke his silence on the shoot-down of three aerial objects in the last week. He told the press those objects were like no more than "benign objects" that were launched by private companies or research institutions.
But there continues to be growing concerns about his administration's handling of the first balloon that was spotted in American airspace (above Montana) on January 31, tracked for several days by the media and the public as it traversed across the country, then finally shot down on February 4 off the coast of South Carolina. Several news outlets now report that U.S. intelligence agencies were watching the balloon from the time it lifted off from its home base in China, but did nothing until it had completed its trek across the U.S.
During an appearance on American Family Radio this week, Gary Bauer of the Campaign for Working Families said he doesn't believe the current leadership in the White House has the will, the strength, or the understanding to protect the country if forced into a high-stakes war with China.
"A war with Communist China will determine which nation rules the world, in a sense," he stated. "And experts are telling us, if we'll listen, that we're likely to lose a couple of aircraft carriers within the first week of the war – with each one of those aircraft carriers having 5,000 young men and women on them. Is the United States ready for that?"
And Bauer warned America's military leaders better understand that the next war will not be fought by the rules it has been holding itself to in recent years.
"If the Communist Chinese get into a war with the United States, nothing will restrain them – nothing! Absolutely nothing! They're an officially godless regime," he exclaimed. "This would a serious war with a serious nation that believes with all its heart and soul that the future belongs to them."
As AFN reported earlier this month, a four-star U.S. Air Force general is predicting war with China by 2025 over an invasion of Taiwan. The memo from General Mike Minihan was intended for officers of the Air Mobility Command, which provides transport and refueling support around the globe, but the general's urgent warning to improve airmen training was leaked to the public.
