During an appearance on Fox News, U.S. Rep. Lance Gooden said two charity groups are working in secret to transport illegals on passenger flights, house them in hotel rooms, and even provide them with information about how to travel and assimilate within the country.
That description mirrors an alarming report from Florida’s governor, Ron DeSantis. He has said more than 70 late-night flights into Jacksonville since the summer have dumped illegal aliens in his state.
Congressman tipped off about charities
A whistleblower advised the congressman’s office that groups Catholic Charities USA (pictured above) and the Jewish Family Association help the illegals move around the country and provide them with information packets.
“And these packets,” Rep. Gooden said, “detail how to go to the airport, how to get past TSA without any identification, how to enroll your children in schools, and [how to] assimilate in whatever community you desire to go in."
The congressman’s accusations on the well-watched cable news outlet did not go unnoticed. Left-wing website American Independent reported that Gooden had “attacked” the faith-based charities that are, according to the story, only helping immigrants who are seeking asylum in the U.S. However, the Catholic Charities website states it helps refugees, asylum seekers, and “undocumented” immigrants --- left-wing jargon for illegal aliens --- because a sovereign nation should respect the “human dignity and rights” of all three groups.
Even if the nonprofit is helping only asylum seekers, on average a whopping 90% of asylum cases are rejected by a federal immigration judge. Like illegal aliens caught by Border Patrol, many of them disappear into the interior of the country and are never seen again.
Citing information on their websites, the far-left news website also claimed the charities are open about their charity work for foreigners and are therefore not doing secretive out of sight of the public. Those descriptions, however, are mostly vague references to providing “social services” and setting up “respite centers” that provide food, clothes, and showers.
Catholic Charities also announced a new initiative called “The Border is Everywhere” on Nov. 1 to assist asylum seekers who make an asylum claim.
After receiving a tip about the charities, Gooden told Fox News he went to the U.S.-Mexico border near San Diego to investigate the claim that illegals are being welcomed into the U.S. and given help to remain. He saw illegals being transported across the border on buses.
"These buses come over and over throughout the day to these various hotels that say they are closed for construction,” the congressman advised, “when they are very much open and they’re just closed to the public.”
According to the Fox News story, the packet obtained by Rep. Gooden’s office also contains maps of major U.S. cities; legal information about pro bono services; and a letter from the nonprofit telling TSA agents to allow them to board a flight with the limited personal I.D. that they possess.
"I’d like to know what sort of coordination is taking place with the countries south of us, especially Mexico,” the Texas congressman told Fox News, “because it’s impossible for these people to so easily get here without help from the southern side of the border.”
