The McKinney Islamic Association wants to build a 32,000-square-foot facility in the outskirts of Dallas that will consist of a mosque, an educational building and a multi-use gymnasium to accommodate the growing Muslim population there.
At a city council meeting last week, Eri Issa (pictured above), an Iranian-born Christian and self-described survivor of Sharia law, warned the community to not be fooled by the protestations that Muslims are peaceful.
He pointed out that every country that is Islamic now used to be Christian, and he assured the council that every country has been infiltrated with this "disgusting" and dangerous ideology.
"People will use taqiyyah to lie to you, to manipulate you," Issa warned. "Whenever Islam is little, they will lie to you and tell you they come in peace."
The takeover, he said, happens in two phases. Phase one involves lying and using terms like "Islamophobia" and "racism" as a defense.
"Islam is not a race," Issa pointed out. "Anytime you criticize Islam, they will use the race card."
He also said Islamic leaders cannot be trusted.
Rep. Keith Self (R), who has become one of the Texas GOP's leading voices against Islam as anti-Muslim sentiment has spread across the state party, also spoke. He also voiced his opposition to the 5.5-acre worship house and his overall distrust of those who practice the Muslim faith.
At the meeting last week, he referenced the documented United Kingdom coverup of "grooming gangs" and described how British law enforcement failed to investigate wide-scale child sexual abuse.
"Child marriage, honor killings—don't tell me that can't happen here," Self said. "There is no state cavalry coming to save you."
Issa said Great Britain is already in phase two of the takeover. Cities and towns that have reached this level have no-go zones where Sharia law is enforced and local police are not allowed. Free speech is forbidden, as is any criticism of the Qur'an.
"If you question that disgusting book, you're called a kāfir," he accounted. "They get killed over it, just like my friends were apostates in prison or dead right now in Iran."
London's Muslim population is about 15%, according to the 2021 census, with some boroughs exceeding 30%. Paris has a substantial Muslim population as well, particularly in its suburbs. France does not collect religious data in its census, which makes precise figures unavailable, but one national survey found about 10% of French adults ages 18-59 identified as Muslim in 2019-20.
Even though Issa told the Texas city council they were walking into a trap, that the Islamic association's project is "a bad idea, and you're going to regret not listening to people like us, who lived under Sharia law," the McKinney City Council voted unanimously (7-0) to allow the Islamic association's mosque expansion.
Meanwhile, the Meadow, the 402-acre Muslim-centered master-planned community formerly known as EPIC City, continues to face significant legal and regulatory hurtles. But the East Plano Islamic Center project planned for Josephine, Texas, has not been definitively killed.
