Mamdani's arrest threats show lack of knowledge on matters of Israel, Huckabee says

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani was making plenty of threats to arrest Benjamin Netanyahu if the Israeli prime minister shows up in his town for a UN meeting.

That appeared to change when Mamdani looked closely at the law.

Then he came to the realization that he doesn't have the authority to arrest a sovereign foreign leader for merely showing up in the city. But he's still making the threat.

Huckabee, Mike Huckabee

“Benjamin Netanyahu is a war criminal. As I've said, I agree with the ICC (International Criminal Court) that Benjamin Netanyahu should be arrested and tried for his crimes,” Mamdani said in a video posted to social media.

Israeli Ambassador Mike Huckabee told Today's Issues on American Family Radio that Mamdani should focus on cleaning up the streets of New York City from its drug infestation.

“If he's talking about Gaza, and he takes the ridiculous, stupid, and utterly lack of facts into play and says, ‘oh, they're guilty of genocide,’ he’s injecting himself into something about which he is utterly ignorant,” Huckabee said.

Despite what the rogue ICC in The Hague says, Israel conducted the campaign in Gaza with extreme care.

“This war should never have taken that long, but it did because Israel was doing their very best to try to prevent civilian casualties,” Huckabee said.

Huckabee says the mayor should support Israel defending itself after an attack which, if it were scaled to a country the size of the US, would dwarf 9/11, the most tragic day in the history of Mamdani's city.

“It would be the equivalent of 40,000 Americans being murdered in a single day and 10,000 people being taken hostage, raped, starved, beaten, and abused,” Huckabee said.
