Rahm Emanuel is a former White House Chief of staff under former President Barack Obama. Josh Shapiro is the current governor of Pennsylvania, and JB Pritzker is currently the governor of Illinois.
All three are veteran politicians who have each served the Democrat Party with success for years. The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) says they are "believed to be contemplating 2028 presidential bids," but they are all Jews.
According to WSJ, Emanuel has tried to smooth over Israeli tension, saying one can support Israel but disapprove of their actions toward Palestine. However, polls reveal that two-thirds of Democrats sympathize with the Palestinians and that Israeli sympathy has dropped to 17%, leaving the Jewish candidates in a tough spot.
Jan Markell, founder and president of Olive Tree Ministries, says that is something that has become disqualifying in today's Democrat Party.
“No, I don't believe a Jewish candidate will be successful on the Left, ever, because their antisemitism is worsening and worsening,” Markell states.
Jews, she says, were the backbone of the Democrat Party of the past.
“And the tragedy is Jewish Democrats are supporting this party, and they need to wake up and realize they're part of a party that's out for their destruction,” Markell says.
WSJ says progressives have become increasingly critical of Israel in the aftermath of the war in Gaza.
Robert Maginnis, senior fellow for national security at the Family Research Council, says the radical Democrat socialists have driven the Democrat Party off a cliff since Oct. 7.
“Since Oct. 7, leftists of the Democrats celebrated. And how in the world they could all of a sudden turn and wholeheartedly endorse a Jewish candidate for the presidency of the United States? I would not. I just don't understand,” Maginnis states.
There's no way, he says, that Democrats will entertain a moderate Jewish presidential candidate.
“How in the world a Jewish person in the United States could continue to support this party is beyond my understanding,” Maginnis says.
