On the third day of Operation Epic Fury, U.S. and Israeli forces continue to pound targets inside Iran. The regime has struck back killing at least four U.S. service members and seriously wounding several others.
In addition, Kuwait’s air defenses on Monday mistakenly shot down three U.S. F-15 fighter jets, the U.S. Central Command says.
Overall, there’s been great success for Operation Epic Fury. Bob Maginnis, a national defense analyst and president of Maginnis Strategies, says so far, so good.
“We are conducting a very effective operation that was well orchestrated, planned and resourced and that is seriously diminishing the Iranian missile program and destroying what is left of the nuclear program. And of course, destroying their Navy."
But what’s next, Maginnis asks?
That single person among 90 million with the special skills needed to seize the moment has yet to emerge.
War Sec. Pete Hegseth on Monday repeated President Donald Trump’s call for the Iranian people to rise up and take control in their country.
“We hope the Iranian people will take advantage of this incredible opportunity. President Trump has been clear. Now is your time,” he said.
Whoever that person might be, the culture in place likely prevents an abundance of religious tolerance from the new Iranian leadership.
"Who has the will that can lead them out of totalitarian rulership to something that can be more of a welcoming neighbor in a very troubled part of the world, I
don't know. Whatever it's going to be I suspect it will still have a very strong Islamic flavor. And given the neighborhood, it's not going to be terribly welcoming to people of Christian and Jewish and other faiths. And so, we'll have to wait and see."
