A conservative educator and former congresswoman says there's almost no chance President Donald Trump's Israeli-Hamas peace plan will work.

The 20-point peace plan proposed by Trump to bring peace to the Middle East started off well. All the living hostages in Gaza have been returned to a very grateful country.

But already Hamas has started violating the agreement. Dean Michele Bachmann of the Robertson School of Government at Regent University says Hamas says it can't even find the bodies of the deceased hostages.

“Step one was mixed in terms of being positive, but I think that's about the end of the positivity on the 20-point plan,” Bachmann said.

She says the reason the plan is doomed to failure is it ultimately calls for a two-state solution, meaning a terror state next to Israel.

“The land of Gaza would be put into the control of the hands of the chief funder of terrorism in the world. That's Qatar.”

She says the only way to achieve a lasting peace in the Middle East is to let Israel finish the job.

“At this point, the best thing that could happen is that Israel would be given full freedom to end this war in whatever means they need to,” Bachmann said.

Not only would that mean letting the IDF drive Hamas completely into the sea, it would mean taking control of Judea and Samaria, sometimes called the West Bank. Bachmann says Trump needs to find a new team of negotiators.

Steve Witkoff has been largely praised for certain aspects of his work in the peace process. He helped broker the temporary ceasefire and hostage exchange earlier this year. He’s credited with a business-style approach to negotiations.

However, he’s also been criticized as being too “transactional” and lacking nuance in delicate situations.

“I think he needs to thank Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner and dismiss them from the process.”
