Kara Zupkus, spokeswoman for Young America's Foundation (YAF), a center-right organization based in Virginia, says George Washington University has announced that Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Massachusetts) will be giving the keynote address to all the graduates.
"Dr. Anthony Fauci is going to be presented with the president's medal to honor him for what they say is the highest honor that the university's president can bestow," Zupkus continues.
While Joe Biden ran for president in 2020 on a hyper left-wing platform that promoted abortion and the cancellation of all student loan debt, Zupkus recalls that Fauci "flip-flopped" on so many issues, including masks and vaccines.
"He is not someone YAF thinks the people can really trust these days to get actual information about the pandemic," the foundation spokeswoman adds.
Liberals invited to speak at past GWU events include First Lady Michelle Obama, Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-Illinois), and Senator Cory Booker (D-New Jersey).
"It really is kind of a never-ending list, and never once when I was at GWU was a conservative invited to speak at the commencement," says Zupkus, a graduate of George Washington University. "The only people really inviting conservatives to that campus are the YAF chapter or the College Republicans working with YAF to bring in Ben Shapiro, who had a sold-out crowd."
Based on that level of attention, Zupkus sees that conservative ideas are in demand, but GWU is "just too cowardly to put them in front of the students, because they're scared of the backlash that they might face."
The commencement is scheduled for October 2nd. Senator Warren is also a former student of George Washington University. Dr. Fauci received an honorary Doctor of Public Service from GW in 2015.
