The Left continues to protest the Trump administration's call to action against the Iranian regime, the No. 1 state sponsor of global terrorism which – less than a week ago – had great nuclear ambitions.
But ambassadors with the Project 21 Black Leadership Network are supporting the people of Iran, including Terris Todd who serves as Director of Outreach and Coalitions.
“It's about freedom. I myself have a personal friendship with an Iranian young lady who I work alongside. I have gotten to know a lot of the tyranny, and a lot of the heartache and pain that her family and that even her husband's family have gone through for quite some time.”
The Iranian people deserve relief after decades of suffering, Todd said.
“I think because of the length of time, 47 years of being under the iron fist of a dictator and under tyranny … that’s why we support this.”
“It has to come to an end at some point, so to us, it's more of like Iran is now having its reckoning day. The Iranian people, hopefully will have their day of liberty and freedom that they deserve to experience. "
Todd says black Americans know what oppression looks like. He says Christians should continue to pray for world peace and for God's righteousness to prevail against those who refuse it.
"With our ancestors having gone through enslavement … what's happening in Iran was another form of enslavement. These people literally had a regime kind of land down on their homeland and to take over and force their own beliefs and their own ideologies upon the people of Iran, and we're saying that enough is enough. Iranian people must be free."
