Activist blasts CDC, schools for destructive promotion of gender distortion

A family advocate describes as "horrifying" the trends revealed in a just-released decade-long study on teen mental health disorders.

America's young people are seeing a sharp rise in mental health problems and suicide attempts. Those are the findings of a ten-year study released by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Linda Harvey of Mission: America argues it's no coincidence that the same period has seen a sharp rise in teens professing to be LGBTQ.

As of 2019, nearly 16% of teens identified as "gay" or transexual – and that number is growing, says Harvey. "The fact that the public schools have decided to ramp up the promotion of homosexuality means that you're going to see more of it," she warns.

Harvey writes that too many schools "adamantly refuse" to see the connection between promotion of the LGBTQ lifestyles and teen disorders.

"Our youth have been sold sexual misbehavior and we are now reaping its rotten fruits," she states. "These lost kids are flailing their arms, trying to find an anchor. Sexual or gender confusion [isn't] the answer, even though many teachers and classroom lessons today tell them it is."

Seldom, she says, does either the CDC or the public schools present to students any hope for rescue from the immoral lifestyle. "The hard-nosed, reputation-guarding 'LGBTQ' activist community continues to maintain that attempts to change sexual orientation or gender identity should be banned," she adds.

But's it not all on the schools. Harvey acknowledges that those teens identifying as LGBTQ might well come from broken and dysfunctional families.

"We know families are breaking down right and left and there are many problem areas of our culture," she tells AFN. "And so, the fact that the public schools promote this on top of all that, we're seeing the results in our kids. The stresses and the strains are showing that our kids are breaking apart."

While she calls for the CDC's "blatant LGBTQ activism" in U.S. schools to be exposed and ended, Harvey also argues that more parental involvement in children's lives will reduce the incidence of mental health struggles among youth.
