Talking about voting on American Family Radio, Jason Rapert of the National Association of Christian Lawmakers said millions of Christians do not cast a ballot on Election Day.
"I am praying for revival in the pulpits of those churches because America is truly still on the brink," Rapert told the “At the Core” radio program.
Rapert, a former Arkansas state senator, is founder and president of the National Association of Christian Lawmakers.
During a midterm election, the two-year mark during a president’s term, the opposing political party typically enjoys large turnout from its energized base. If that happens in November, helping the Democratic Party, it could swing the majority in both the House and Senate.
If Republicans lose the midterm elections, and Democrats take control, Rapert predicted the political will be one of the worst whiplashes we've ever seen.
"These Democrats are not your grandma and grandpa's Democratic Party," warned Rapert, naming far-left lawmakers such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib.
Despite the history of midterms, the generic political polling at RealClearPolitics shows the Democratic Party with a slight lead over the Republican Party. The RCP average shows a 47%-43% split among more a dozen polls dating back to mid-January.
Rapert told show host Walker Wildmon talk radio is a great source for reaching Christians who are not politically engaged, but he bluntly said church pastors need to stop being silent and speak the truth.
“Because if they don't,” he warned, “the great United States of America that you and I know will not exist if we don't take a stand and protect our country at this important critical time."
